Gundumallay Estate is one of the largest tea estate in high ranges. The name "Gundu-Mallay" is derived from a huge rock which in Tamil mean Gundu-Mallay, Behind the manager's bunglow in this estate. This is one of the highest yielding estates in high range and the highest yield achieved was in 1999-2000 i.e. 3180 Kg/ha. This estate manufactures CTC type and the capacity is 50000 kgs. green leaf per day.
