Hathikuli was originally
Hatikhuli and is derived from the two Assamese words
"hati" meaning elephant and "Khuli"
meaning frequent. The full meaning of "Hathikuli"
would therefore translate to a place frequented by
elephants. The oldest section was planted in 1908.
