The estate was established in 1895 and the Factory was built in 1902 to produce Orhodox Tea. In 1991 it was converted to CTC manufacture. Manufacture of tea has been tuned to cater to the requirements of the discerning customer. Thus the Tea from the Kanniamallay gives the consumer the tea they want and the way they want it. It is emerging as a brand on itself.

In 1998/1999 this estate achieved an all time record crop of 2552 Kg./Ha.
