Majuli Tea Estate

"Maj" colloquially means "inbetween" i.e. Majuli is situated inbetween two rivers viz - Bhorolo river in the east and Kulshi river in the west. "JULI" means "hanging inbetween", figuratively speaking. Hence the name Majuli. The oldest section was planted in 1897.
