Malakiparai Estate was established in the 1915. The total mature area under tea is 514.54 hectares and the immature area is 15.22 hectares. It consists of four divisions. This estate has the distinction of being the number One in the company on achieving an all time yield of 4140 kgs per hectare in 1997/98.

New tea areas were planted on this estate Myladumparai division in the year 1988. Originally replacement planting was carried out. Extension planting started in 1992 carried on till 1998. The division has 95.34 hectares under sprinkler irrigation and 5 hectares under a drip irrigation system. At present this division ranks second in terms of yield in Tata Tea's South India operations.
