Aneimudi estate (now a division of this estate) was one of the first areas to be opened up for commercial cultivation in the High Ranges. Planting commenced in the year 1881, under Mr. E.J. Fowler. In 1895 Sholamallay estate (now a division of this estate) was the first estate to be opened up in the name of the Kannan Devan Hills Produce Company. The first officially recorded church service in the High Ranges was also conducted on this estate in the year 1898 at Sholamallay bungalow. The same year a Scotsman named Kerr was the first European doctor to have settled down in the High Ranges after building a house and hospital on this estate. The estate is spread over 5 divisions and manufactures CTC teas.
