Yellapatty located in the top station area of Munnar shares its boundaries with Chittavurrai and Chandavurrai Estates.

The estate has a mature area of 321.65 ha. and a immature area of 5.00 ha. The last five year yield average of Yellapatty is 2591kgs/ha and it achieved its record crop during the year 1997/98. The estate experiences mild monsoon compared to other regions of Munnar, but experiences extreme cold climate and frequent frost attacks during winter. Yellapatty factory which was built in the year 1901 has machinery required for normal Orthodox manufacture. Located at the foot of Karankolam Mountain the estate has an abundance of wild life including Elephants, Bison and Deer.
